Not if you get water based (or at least not very quickly), yes if you get oil based.

Omg surely the builders didn’t use oil based in our house. The downstairs loo paintwork was practically beige before I painted last week.

I need to do all mine, its only 2 years old. New build, so not like there is layers of old paint underneath.

If it’s water based you can use floetrol, it stops it drying so quickly so it settles out before drying.

We used little Greene intelligent eggshell once, awful stuff. Cost a bomb too.

If we can use water based gloss I’m buying wilko.

I used Dulux Aquanamel on all my door frames a couple of years ago. Chosen because it’s water-based and supposedly won’t yellow, and so far so good. Important because all the paintwork is bright white.

I managed it without floetrol, and it wasn’t much hassle - although I did watch several YouTube vids first!

I've been converted to satin wood. I don't think I will ever use gloss again. It's horrible stuff to work with.
