What colour blinds with navy walls?

I know I know, another navyish living room but I have been renting for 20 years so forgive the indulgence.

The previous owners have got blinds up and I cant afford to replace with curtains just yet. It is a normal terraced house 11x11ft living room with a black victorian fireplace. The walls are going to be dark blue - stiffkey?? and my furniture is dark red wingback leather chair- tastic plus some indian type blue/red colours in the rugs etc. The carpet is beige and again cant afford to replace atm.

The blinds at the moment are magnolia but that just isnt going to work for me - any ideas?

Mustard could work, add a few mustard cushions too so it isn't the only mustard in the room?

I hadnt thought of that. I was round my SILs this week and she has a navy blue corridor. That has put me right off - but I have red chairs and a pinkish sofa so not sure I can live with dark aubergine or green walls. Harrumph.

Judging by your armchair and rug it looks like you might have gone for more traditional designs in heritage kind of colours? Tbh, I wouldn't do navy with that but carry on with the traditional scheme for walls and windows. Maybe pick some colours out of the rug?

What is traditional though? I might look again at F&B Indian Yellow but it doesn't feel cosy enough for me in a sitting room. The look is kind of EM Forster goes to India.

Go for a brighter pink like cerise which would go with your sofa

I've just painted our study with navy on two of the walls. I'm having a mustard yellow blind and accents.

The only thing is put with navy walls is cream blinds

I am in danger of overthinking this!

I've got a mostly navy blue living room (sapphire salute and an Art Deco wallpaper) I've got white blinds.

I just googled that Indian yellow and it seems lovely for going with the other pieces. If the exact hue isn't quite right, maybe other brands have some warmer options. I think it would also look more modern in a way - navy is beginning to look dated to me as it's been popular for quite a few years now.

Yellow also has a very sunny, uplifting feel-good factor to it.

IKEA have put pale pink with navy which I think looks good.

Interesting about the pink - I do like a nice blush though it is a bit too sophisticated for me.

The Indian yellow is lovely and I think it is going in the dining room - am worried that it just isn't dark enough to be cosy. But, and this is a big but, if I went for it I could have a teal velvet sofa that I cant afford

I was going to say dusky pink too. Would look lovely with the navy and maybe some copper accents. Or how about stone coloured heavy ticking type material with a dark red or pink stripe?
