Looking for wallpaper suggestions

We're doing up our bedroom.

Walls are not good enough to paint (and no budget for plastering), but OK under regular wallpaper. I don't want to line and paint (too lazy!) so want a wallpaper that I like the pattern/design of for the whole room.

Room is small/medium sized (about 10'x13') double in a 1930s semi. Big bay window, quite nice and light. Wardrobe built into alcove by chinmey breast with a standard white door, furniture is plain white Ikea Malm bed/bedside tables/chests of drawers. Room will be recarpeted, so any sensible colour carpet could be chosen (i.e. fairly neutral). Curtains/bedding/lamps etc can all be changed.

So ideas? I'm really stumped as it's such a blank canvas and I'm not very creative!

I know I don't want anything too busy due to smallish room size. I'm pretty sure I don't want anything with a heavy texture. I'm probably veering towards a grey colour - because its neutral and easy (if possibly a bit boring), but am fairly open minded about considering anything.

If anyone has any inspiration - pics or ideas to give me some direction I'd really appreciate it!

Try Pinterest

What colours & styles do you like? Vintage? Modern? Plain? Eccentric? Bright? Muted?

Laura Ashley Josette is quite a soft grey wallpaper, sort of vintage so nice for a 30s house, not too in your face pattern wise.

Then you could have a neutral carpet, white, cream & grey bedding/accessories etc? Calming for a bedroom.

Crystal lights etc would jazz it up if you like bling.

Birdcages, roses etc if you want the vintage feel

If that is too plain colour wise you could add some colourful bedding or a few deep plum cushions.

If I'm way off let us know what you like & I will try to help :)

Thanks for the replies.

I'm not really sure what styles we like - we're definitely not on trend and ultra modern. I do rather like the whole shabby chic style, but I think that's rather passe now, and I should probably move on from that.

I guess I'm looking for something that's quite nice and neutral, and not notably dated. We don't redecorate that often, so, something that won't looked dated in a year or two is good.

I have looked on pinterest, but finding it hard to find where to start, as I really don't have much idea.

I do like that LA Josette wallpaper - but worry it might be too busy for a small room?

If you don't know what you like then it will be difficult for anyone to help you I'm afraid. Have a look in a few home magazines & wallpaper websites? Facebook LA, wallpaper direct, graham & brown etc etc for inspiration

Try Houzz as well as Pinterest

You need to have some idea of what look you want

My room sounds identical. I have grey and silver wallpaper behind the bed - darker grey/silver curtains and silver bedding. Maybe something like this ? -www.grahambrown.com/uk/karma-grey-wallpaper/33-276-master.html#sz=42&start=62&cgid=decorating-wallpaper-grey
