Shoe storage

I'm looking for ideas for hallway shoe storage. DP and I don't have much wardrobe space, so need to keep a few pairs in the hallway. I'd also like somewhere to 'catch' post etc when we come in. No DCs. I currently have a really cheap open shoe rack and it looks so messy. We've got a Victorian staircase, so I want something that goes with that rather than a modern Ikea type look, so not Kallax. Does anyone use something like this to keep shoes? Or any other suggestions? We are limited to 1 metre wide so many benches are out. Was thinking I could have a nice mirror above the sideboard as well
