Electric Combi Boiler

Urgent advise needed from saavy mumsnetters!

The work to refurbish our one bed flat has started and the installation of a new, wall-mounted electric combi boiler is imminent. Our builder intends to bolt it on our kitchen wall which is also a party wall. I have just read manufacture's Installation Instruction myself and Noticed the warning: INSTALL UPRIGHT ON A WALL SUITABLE TO SUPPORT THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THE BOILER WHEN FULL OF WATER - 125kg.

Could someone tell me whether I need to be concerned with hanging a boiler weighting this much on a party (brick) wall? And is bolting it directly on a brick party wall the best solution? ( my builder says this wall can support more weight than a partition plaster boarded wall. Are there any better solutions and what are they?

Your builder is correct! The alternative would be one of the external walls of the flat.

External wall is not an option. When you said my builder is correct, do you mean the brick wall between flat is strong enough (as my builder suggested)?? It is a 1900's building we are talking about.

Brick can definitely take more than a plaster boarded wall. Mirrors and simple shelves fall straight off our stud walls, let alone a boiler! Don't know whether this particular brick wall is strong enough - do you know how wide it is (single or double)? I once lived in a terraced Victorian house where builders were doing work on the neighbour's wall (the party wall), and they inadvertently pushed a brick right through the wall into our spare bedroom...!
