I am about to order new bedroom furniture for our room, 3 door wardrobe, chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets costing just over £1500. For us this is a big purchase so I need to get it right as will be keep them for a while. I had picked out a paper for one wall with white background and duck egg blue detail with the matching bedding. We have 3 Windows in our room so was going with Roman blinds in duck egg. The furniture I like comes in 2 colours cream and oak or putty grey and oak, I love the grey. Does grey go with the blue and do you think the grey will date quickly? They are ready assembled bits of furniture made if solid wood, if you were buying them what colour would you go for? I can return the paper and choose something different.

I'd get the putty grey. It goes really well with Duck egg blue. Do you have any pics? We have a putty grey colour with oak tops in our living room and it's very neutral, goes with most soft colours.

I know you don't want it to date but you should get the ones you really like. Don't pick it to go with the wallpaper etc though. You should pick that to go with the furniture.

Although I think it'll look really good anyway.

Actually, I bet my furniture is the same range. Grin Is it M&S?

Yes it is M&S, I think I will go with grey colour and decorate around that because I really like them.

It's a very soft grey then. We have a bit of duck egg blue in the room and it does go well.
