Grey carpet, black sofa. What bright colour should we bring in?

We have teal with our dark grey sofa and rug, my sil has fuchsia.

I wouldn't go for a strong colour. A very muted shade of heather or teal, along with other neutrals (beiges and lighter and darker greys).

I would go with something soft. Like a light/sage green maybe? We have grey sofas and a grey rug with a green chimney breast - French Vine from the B&Q colours range is a lovely shade.

Is be tempted to go for white walls but have pops of lots of bright colours elsewhere. Ie lamp, vase etc
