Diy conservatory roof blinds

Recently moved. We have a south facing conservatory and it is just crazy hot in there.
Has anybody ever made their own roof blinds? I'm reluctant to spend the 3k plus on blinds when we hope to replace it in the near future.

I looked at making them myself but you need specialist fabric and some skill to do it properly!

On eBay there are ready made sails, UV fabric which you can just hang yourself. We paid 15 each.

There were lots of shapes and sizes you could select, certainly a good budget option ime.

If it has a poly carbonate roof you can get reflective inserts that you put into the roof. I did it with mine and it's made a big difference.
