Need a white noise machine to cover up toilet noises!

Hi all

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for particular white noise machines or machines that simulate fan noises - specifically to cover up what I will call "toilet sounds"? I am not a precious person but I am finding it really gross that my dh and I can hear each other "go" in some detail from anywhere upstairs and sometimes even downstairs (the loo is upstairs). It is obviously even more embarrassing for overnight guests.

We are in accommodation tied to dh's work and so we don't want to sink lots of our money into soundproofing, and a new (frustratingly quiet) fan has been fitted recently which doesn't help.

I cannot find anything specifically for this purpose online but was wondering whether white noise machines intended to help people sleep might do the job. Ideally something that sounds like a fan so doesn't sound really out of place. Wouldn't want guests to feel the need to advertise their activities by way a whale music or anything.

Oh and would need to be battery operated as no plugs in there!

All suggestions appreciated - thanks!

Battery powered radio set to no station? (And set to Radio 3 for long relaxing baths?!)

Does putting toilet paper in the pan first not help to muffle it?

I use my old I phone as a white noise device.
I just have an app on there that does it. What about turning on the shower?
