What size bed for me and dh?

Thinking of buying new bed for us, advice please.
Currently we have a vi sprung super king size but both sleep at the edges. It feels a bit lonely now no little night visitors anymore but do get a decent night's sleep. Thinking of going down to double or king size to gain more floor space and cuddles but do enjoy my own space. Dh snores and is like furnace, so superking has been good in that respect. It's a big purchase - any thoughts?

Can you sleep in a hotel to try out a double? I wouldn't go from a super King to a double especially if one snores!

How tall are you/DH? Because you lose a bit of length as well as width with a double vs King/superking.

Thanks for the replies. The hotel idea is a good one - would be money well spent. We are both short - 160cm and 170cm so length isn't a problem. We were talked into the super King by a salesman and it was good when the dcs were young but want some cosiness back now.

I was going to say as large as fits in the room, but see that's not actually what your after!
I think a double would be a shock after a superking. The hotel would be a good idea ( if you can find one that will guarantee a standard double). I think a king would be a good compromise.

You wouldn't reclaim that much floor space really. Agree that double would be a shock - remember that it's significantly less than two singles pushed together.

I loved our super king when overseas, now in a double in the UK.......say no more....! My DP takes over whatever size we have, so I have more chance of space in a SK....

We've just gone from a double to a European king, and I'm underwhelmed at the difference. Er.. Maybe go down to king?

I wouldn't trade my sk for anything. I don't understand how couples can comfortably share a double. I think you have to decide what side of the fence you are on!
