I'm about to redecorate a room from scratch for 2 little girls age 1 and 5 and I'm just clueless at the minute. The room is approximately 9ft x 10ft with 2 windows and radiator on one wall and the bedroom door on the opposite wall. The walls are plastered. Inspire me please.

I decorated DD's room recently, she was 2.5 at the time.

She is going through a pink phase but not sure how long it will last so I wanted decor where pink would fit in but was not all pink iyswim.

Also wanted something toddler friendly but would last till older.

So, she has a blind made in the fabric below (Bird Trail Grey). The walls are a purpley colour and she has a bright pink clock and bedlinen, these are both colours that appear in the fabric. All furniture is white (except a chair which I intend to paint someday!)

What do they like? In the end it's only paint, I'd sit and look at Pinterest with the 5-year old and see what she responds to.

Also, current furniture can be totally transformed with paint, wallpaper, decoupage, fabric.

Have fun, whatever the budget.

Nothing nicer than decorating DC bedrooms!

I went for a dark grey carpet and light grey walls and allowed her to choose and bed linen and accessories she liked on Tesco direct because I had loads of vouchers left! Smile

Have you considered wall art? We have something like this (in a shared room for 5 and 9). All white furniture, woodwork etc, pale grey walls and then then on the large plain wall. We also have 3D butterfies on the wall by their heads, and they each have a panel we've painted on their wardrobes which is blackboard paint. Even if I do say so myself, it looks love.

My dd as this giant leaf www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IKEA-LOVA-Lova-Green-Leaf-Childrens-Bed-Canopy-/201418957559?hash=item2ee58162f7:g:D-0AAOSwDNdV5b~c. And we have put butterflies on it and the wall behind. It's next to her book case and she has a rocking chair and bean bags under it.
