Ikea Hemnes Day Bed

DD really likes this and would fit her room with storage and sleepovers covered!
But she's 14 (tall and slim) so worry that she will find it too narrow? It would need to last until 18!
Anyone used this as a full time single bed?
It know a 3ft wide equivalent?
It's the storage that is key really.

I have one. It's great. Very comfy. Looks lovely in the bedroom. To me it's just like a normal single bed, then again I'm a short arse so it might be different for your daughter.

I have the one that can be made into a double bed which is great for sleepovers. But also means I don't have storage under the bed as that's where the other single mattress is stored. Hope that makes sense.

We've got one for DS that he uses as his everyday bed. The storage and the option of a double bed are fab.

He's only 3 at the moment though. I don't know if it will last til he's 18. I'd happily sleep in it although I'm only 5'4"!

We have the one that opens to a double - FiL uses it when he comes to stay for a couple of weeks at a time, he's 6'5 though so always opens it to a double. Get a decent mattress - we got the most expensive option - and I'm sure it will be fine. Bugger to put together though.

We have it in the spare room and it takes a normal sized single mattress (it's not a child size bed or anything) so it should be fine for your daughter.

We have two single mattresses on top of each other, and when we make it into a double for guests just put them both next to each other. the storage drawers are very big and store all the bedding and towels and pillows and duvet for the guests.

I think it is great!

Thanks.
It's 80cm wide and standard is 90cm so was worried that it would be too narrow.
Do you put one mattress ontop of other?

Yes. It's the only space we have to store them.

I thought it was a bit soft with two mattresses but DS likes the extra height. Handily, it also means that he's lying above the bed frame and less likely to hit his head.

I sleep on ours quite happily and I am 5'11".

You may want to buy a better quality mattress than Ikea if it is to be her permanent bed. Ours is just for when we have guests.

Erm, my DH is 6ft 7 and happily sleeps on ours occasionally, so she should be fine!
