Anyone got Laura Ashley furniture?

DH has been hankering after an old fashioned leather arm chair for as long as I can remember.

There's one in Laura Ashley that fits the bill but it's rather a lot of money. If this is a chair that's going to grow old with him that's fine, but not if it's going to want replacing within a few years. What's the quality of Laura Ashley sofas/chairs like?

Not sure about the sofa and chairs but their bedroom furniture is absolute tosh! Feels cheap, back panels of wardrobes are no better than Argos standard. My friend paid over £4k for a couple of wardrobes and bedside tables. All but one item arrived damaged. She had a nightmare sorting it out. The stuff was such bad quality. They saw her coming sadly!

We have some LA sofas which are still going strong after 8 years.

We have an LA sofa which we love.

Fabric one though.

I loved the fabrics in LA, but went elsewhere after reading about poor quality and poor customer service on review websites.

We have LA leather armchair and sofa. About 12 years old. The cushions on the sofa could do with reupholstering but the leather just gets better with age. Dp loves his armchair and spends about 6 hours a day in it. Considerably more at weekends. We have changed the colour scheme of the room a couple of times but the furniture has complemented each one. In all honesty I think our leather furniture is still the nicest out of any we've seen elsewhere. Not cheap but will go a few more years yet.

we have a sofa and a chair-Kendal I think- both are fine and are around 10 years old but we don't have young DCs any more so they don't get a huge amount of wear.

no experience of their sofas but we have a sideboard from there and it is very solid. about 7 years old now and looks like new.

We don't have any of their upholstery but have a lovely console table from there. It's very well made and nicely finished.

We bought a sofa from them 4 years ago. It has been well looked after (i.e. it has only been sat on- the children have never been allowed to jump on it etc) but the springs have gone and the arse is hanging out of one of the seats. I ill never buy another sofa from them again.

Yes, I have some.

Two Kendal small sofas in fabric - they are 10 years old now and have had daily use. I've wasjed the seat covers in the washing machine on 40 degrees loads of time and they've faded a little bit, but the sofas are still going strong.

Two chests of drawers and two bedside tables - in a light wood. The range is called Ely, and they have long stopped doing it. They are 10 years old too, and have had daily use (they started life in my and DH's bedroom, then they went into the DSs bedrooms) and they are in pretty good condition.

Coffee table, bookcase, large chest of drawers and console table - all about 3 years old, in the Garratt Chestnut range. They look great.

I have loads of pairs of curtains from there, and bedding and throws too, and lamps and lampshades, a mirror and a light fitting.

I have enevr had cause to complain about any of it.
