'Creative writing' at Adult Education class

Has anyone done a creative writing class??? Just booked myself on one to start in September and now I'm panicking slightly. I'm not doing it to become a novelist or anything, more to try to get my brain working in a different way and to have something else to focus on etc. I'm nervous that I'll have to read out my 'work' to fellow students and I'm REALLY not sure I could do that. If you've got any experiences to share, advice or tips before I start, I'd be very grateful!

Hiya, I did a class a couple of years ago now and enjoyed it. There were times when the tutor would ask us to read something out but we only did it if we really wanted to. Plus we didn't really start doing this until we were about 3/4 of the way through the course.

Remember that everyone's going to be just as nervous as you!
