Uni summer break - voluntary work

Posting here as hopefully maybe some of you have experience of different providers.

Internet is awash with companies offering charity type ecological or build a school type 8 week break voluntary work ( you pay to get yourself there) .

DS is thinking of something around building work this summer - any companies to recommend / avoid.
