Tools for teen higher Ed, careers advice?

When I was 14 ish, I was tested at school for my preferences in life against my skills. The result was report of a set of career options that may be suited to me. I felt that this helped me out a lot in pursuing the right subjects at higher ed and also in my career. The times when I have deviated from this report are times that my life didn't go so well. I'm not saying the report should be sacred, but it was uncannily accurate.

I'm after a similar tool or service (happy to pay) aimed at teenagers that will test them, profile them and come out with a set of recommendations as to what subjects to pursue and/or possible suitable careers. My daughter is 16 and isn't sure what to pursue at higher education, or career options.

Thanks for any tips!

don't you remember we were all told to be accountants, because the software returned the first match over a certain threshold, occupations in alphabetical order?

Good luck with your quest, hopefully better advice nowadays.

dc's school all do a morrisby Can't remember how much we had to pay for ds1 when it came to ds3 he was so headstrong on what he wanted to do we didn't bother putting him in for it. Its quite a comprehensive report.

Have a look at icould website. I have used the quiz with lots of adults in a range of jobs who find it uncannily accurate- and it's free!

DS1 did a Morrisby test when he was 15 as his school offered them as a matter of course. He didn't find it much use and cynically noted that the same career choices were suggested to a large proportion of his friends. He's now very successful in a subject/career not suggested at all in the test results.
When I had careers advice, back in the dark ages, the only suggestion made by the adviser was to be an air traffic controller. I was considering either teaching or law, so it wasn't a useful encounter!
