Change of degree from Management to Legal Studies - opinion?

DD has just started university. She wanted to change from Management to Law but that way is, according to her, full of obstacles. Instead she has opted for Legal Studies with Management. Does anyone either have a degree in Legal Studies themselves or have DC with that qualification?

If so, what has been your/ their career path? I know that she cannot practice law with that qualification. Law would have suited her I feel and she has the entry qualification but transfer even at this early stage seems problematic.

Even a law degree does not entitle you to practice as a lawyer, you have to do a legal practice post grad course. Non law graduates do a two year conversion , some accredited joint honours law courses give exemption for some aspects of the course.Even after this lawyers have to have a two tear training contract with a law firm , these are very competitive.
Can I ask what Uni she is at ?

I do not want to say which but it isn't a new university. She doesn't want to be a lawyer, but she wants to study law. I was trying to find help from someone who themselves or whose children have a degree in Legal Studies. I was aware of the series of qualifications required to be a lawyer but that was not my question.

If she is really unhappy, I would say withdraw and reapply next year to do law/something that suits her.

If she withdraws quickly, she will not have to pay fees this year and so will get full support for a new degree.

Even she reapplies for the same course, if she is certain it is right for her, she will get off to a better start.
