Anyone out there live in Crawley? Can you help with somewhere to take my (almost) two year old son? Have tried to locate any kind of toddler groups but they're obviously top secret! Have just moved into the area and feeling a bit isolated, not to mention son and I are starting to drive each other nuts being together 24/7. Please save me before my brain shrivels and dies!!!

There used to be a group called Fit Tots which met several times a week for sessions of soft play and games at the Health Club next to the Copthorne Hotel (sorry, forgotten the name). You paid a small membership fee and then by session. I think they were starting up different locations in Smallfield and Crawley about 2/3 years ago but don't know if it is still going.

Can you get hold of a copy of "The Grapevine" (library, Help Shop or baby shops) which will have a listing of groups and clubs for your area.

Thanks Liz. Didn't realise Grapevine was available down here, I'll give that a go.

Hi Anj - the grapevine is also online at www.thegrapevine.co.uk if you can't get your hands on a paper copy.

I'm just up the road - Redhill/Reigate way - but afraid I don't know much about toddler groups in Crawley since I work full time and DS1 & DS2 are in nursery. I know there's a newly opened playbarn place called Little Rascals on the Manor Royal industrial estate - meant to be good, and also the Arctic Jungle is also meant to be good (same sort of thing...).
Happy to meet up for a weekend 'soft play' session

most areas in Crawley have a mother and toddler group, most are held in the local community centre , church or adventure playground. Some of the ones I know of meet at Millpond Adventure playground Bewbush, Furnace green adventure playground,Maidenbower community centre, Ifield West community centre, New Life Church Furnace Green and Three Bridges Free Church. The sports centre also run daily sessions for toddlers and pre schoolers

Thanks for all your help, hopefully he'll settle down once he finds some new friends to play with.

Hi Anj, I go to a fantastic toddler group, it has songs, fruit time, story time, craft, baby section, cake for moms, and its really friendly and fun, the children have a blast, and the moms are lovely, we immigrated here 2 years ago, and its helped us get well settled and connected.

Email me [email protected]

and I will give you the details, and meet you there.

Kind regards
Ginny

Its in Southgate and every thursday morning..
