SMP and Returning to Work

I'm currently receiving SMP directly from the government. Im ending my maternity leave at the end of this month and using the rest of my annual leave before I return to work on the 15th April, which is a few days after my SMP will stop. Am I still entitled to SMP for the annual leave period or do I need to contact them? Anyone had this issue?

No. You're not entitled to SMP if you've returned to work (even if you're immediately on annual leave). You are however entitled to your salary from day one of this annual leave. You don't get both.

I thought that was the case but struggled to find any info on it without calling them. Ta.
