Paternity leave.

At work I only get 2 weeks paternity leave and the second week is half paid. I feel like it's not long enough and just feel at risk of missing things and being able to help out at home more with having to go back to work so early. Is it fair? Should paternity leave be a lot longer?

Of course you'll miss things. So perhaps it should be 18 years?

Use shared leave?

Yes thats standard.

my partner used 2 weeks annual leave so he had a month off in total which was really nice.

Also, have you looked into shared parental leave?

No it’s not fair at all! My partner is self employed so he got paid nothing, baby number one he took 1 week if and baby number 2 he took two weeks off, we had to save for this to happen, we both have good jobs as well but like is expensive. I feel bad for him as he is a very hands on dad, however I do think the time he does spend with them- evenings and weekends- is quality time. Try focus on the time you do see your little one and make every moment count!
