Changing career to become a florist?

Considering changing career to become a florist, any florists out there have any advice/tips? Is there a course you would recommend to gain some qualifications?

I have some work experience from being a flower picker/packer in New Zealand and I have also done a little propagating whilst working in a Nursery, apart from that I am a complete beginner but have a lot of experience with customers, physically demanding work and working in all weathers!
