I'm freaking out about returning to work. How did others find leaving their baby with childcare?

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be

How old will you're baby Be? I think 9 months is the peak of separation anxiety , anything before that it's a lot easier for them

He will be six months old, but was born two weeks early. I'm so nervous. Im appreciating and enjoying every minute of my maternity leave right now, but every single day, I've been crying and panicking about leaving him. It's a great nursery. Solid reviews and expensive. I'm trying to negotiate working only four days a week instead with my job right now.

I went back when the eldest was a year.
Youngest will be a year when I go back in June too.
It gets easier as time passes.

It is fine once everything is settled in. I went back when they were small (weeks, not even months) and my daughter is back (I have a grandchild now as well as my youngest ( teenagers)) and that is working well too. You will be fine. The hardest thing for me was expressing breast milk several times a day at work but that was necessary because I was keen to carry on feeding and also because I was back in weeks not months.
