Work

Working when you have more than 2 children?

How much help do you have with managing them?

What happens to them when you work?

How much time are you able to devote to work in a day?

How much time do you get to spend with your children? - is it enough?

and lastly, how do you manage driving them places - do you usually split them up?

I run a practice from home and am planning our 3rd at this point and am having many of the logistical concerns rearing their heads and making me wonder if we've made the right decision. I am most surprised and encouraged from some threads that some mumsnetters have an active career with more than 3 children - it gives my career ambitions new hope!!

I cut down my practice after my second, to a point that its still running but I also get to spend time with them. I feel like I have a great balance now, but don't know if a 3rd will give me the option to keep doing it this way... hence my questions!

I have to admit that I haven't had time to work since having 2nd dc. Of course there are millions of mums who find the time because they want to/have to but I think it would finish me. Imagine. Wake up. Shower. Dress self. Wake children. Have clothes ready. Feed them. Get their stuff together, everyone out the door, including self looking vaguely professional. Drop kids off. Race to work. Work all day, concentrating on job. Rush to pick up kids. Shop. Come home, assist with homework, make dinner, feed & bath kids. Put to bed. Eat with dh. Listen to him moan about work. Watch tv. fall into bed. Day after day. Truly, for those of you who manage it, I bow down to you.
