Work

It's all about the money.....

I'd love some help or advice please.
I'm currently in a job I love. It fits round my 3 children and is a truly fabulous role. I'm middle management - I job share with a good friend and it works well. We manage a team of 15 between us.
But. The money is fairly rubbish. I have never owned my own house (I'm 44) and that's my goal. I have a healthy deposit thanks to an inheritance but my salary is so low I couldn't afford a 1 bed flat. There are no career prospects that I'd like to follow where I am now and I don't want to stay where I am for the next 20 odd years. I also want to leave my lazy cheating DH and stand on my own two feet but that's a whole other thread!
I'm about to graduate after 9 years of study with the OU, I will have a BSc (hons) Open. The trouble is I just don't know what to do now. I've looked at teaching (not at the moment) but that's as far as I have got. I speak a few languages and like working with people. I enjoy leading a team. I don't really have any hobbies or interests I'd like to expand on. I hate selling. Has anyone tried professional career counselling or advice? Or can anyone offer any pearls of wisdom?
Thank you!

It sounds like you need some good careers advice! You can get this for free - just google your location and you'll find the local careers advisory bureau.

There are also some great books on careers changes on Amazon, with exercises to work through.

Thank you... Wasn't sure if the local careers service was worth exploring but I'll look them up now. Appreciate your time, cheers!
