Haven't heard back after interview!

Had an interview for a position I really want- was told I'd hear back from HR the same day about whether I had got it (seemed like a pretty fast turnaround to me!)

This was yesterday- should I assume someone else was picked and they haven't got round to notifying everyone else yet?

I would contact the interviewer but the fact he said I'd hear from HR rather than him is putting me off, don't want to be pushy

Leave for 2 days, and phone the interviwer, and say how much you enjoyed meeting them, etc etc. Say you haven't heard, and ask if you are still in the running. If you are, ask if there is anything else you can do to positively influence their decision, as you soooooo badly want to work for them.

If they say you haven't been offered, as if you can have any feedback as to how you can improve in the interview, and ask them to keep you in mind for any future positions.

Once you have an offer you can then decide if you really want to work for them or not - until you have an offer you have no options and no choice in the matter, so 'tactics' like the above put you in a stronger position.

Best of luck.

It could be that they have offered it to someone else, but that person has not accepted the offer yet. That happened to me once, I was second choice, but I didn't mind that. Some people may go for interviews for a few jobs and then turn down the ones that they don't want. If you don't get it, it's all good experience anyway. Good luck

Don't forget, phone them tomorrow with a nice bright attitude...

Even if you don't feel like it...

Been there and done it loads of times.

Interviewer are people too - things happen, their kids get sick & need a day off or an urgent response is needed for something else first.. It may be that they're still getting everything approved higher up to offer someone. Don't give up just yet! Smile
