What £££salary would tempt you to give up comfy SAHM slippers?

I am sitting here wondering whether to apply for a job (application to be done online, closing date today). What level of salary would tempt other SAHMs to go back to work full-time?

I'm part time and woudl NOT go back full time. Salary wouldn't come into it.

Nothing would tempt me back to work especially full-time. Although dh will probably insist I look for some when ds starts school.

You could offer me anything - I'm not giving up the opportunity to take my own children to and from school, help out at school, do homework at 4.30 instead of 7.00, take them to after school activities, be at home if they need to come home ill etc.

Not to mention the fact that I can shop on a weekday when it's not heaving, get lots of errands done without dragging kids around, have an afternoon nap if I want one (going in a minute )....ooh, the list is endless.

For me personally, you can't put a price on these things - my lifestyle is just fine as it is. I work anyway, for myself and from home but I wouldn't go back to needing to be suited and booted, being somewhere in specified hours and having to ask permission to leave if my child is sick. No way.

Although full-time wouldnt be through choice, I would have to cover childcare for both the girls. So, in theory, childcare for the 2 of them would cost me in the region of £950 a month, so to make it worth my while, I wouldnt consider a wage less than a take home pay of £1400 a month

If I could find a job that I really really wanted to do in a great environment and sympathetic to the flexible needs of parents, I'd consider working full time. But it would probably have to pay £30k + realistically.

salary wouldn't make a differance. couldn't leave my kids, and ime the higher the pay the less time for family. i'll go back to work partime if i have to for the money but i'd love to work from home if possible.

I like working part time too much. Do admire working full time mothers tho, I have to cover the full timer 5 weeks a year in my job, and i am always happy when my full time stint comes to an end. saying that i guess if you do it all the time you become extremely organised. The job is very stressful at times too - sales negotiator

Mind you even if benefits were really high I don't think I would've stayed at home after 2 years... love my job and enjoy not being a mum for several hours a week!

the conditions would mean more than money tho -

only during school term time and hrs would be the most tempting to me

Presumably it depends on what you would do with the extra money? I came to the conclusion that we have everything we want, and any extra spending would probably go on travel. The downside with working full-time is that you have limited time for travel, so you can't spend it that way! Saving more in my pension is very grown up, but frankly I find it hard to work now for osmething that I may enjoy in 30 years time.

You're so lucky. I'm the main wage earner in our family so have little choice but my full time job (though often work from home). I love my job and am organised enough to have the best of both worlds - still jealous though.

Would like about 12 hours a week 3 x 4 hours a day, somewhere local, DDs in nursery closeby, maybe even bring home about an extra £50-75 a week would be nice just for little extras.

local authority, project management & general bossing around - something i have been practising every day for the last 5 years as SAHM. Do you think when the closing date is today and it's online, i have until midnight to press the 'apply now' button? After all everyone would've knocked off by now, it being Friday.

Having gone back to work full time when we first moved to Spain because dh couldn't find a job, I can honestly say no money would be enough. I did it for 18 months, never again! Dd was 3.
