I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and on Maternity Leave from work. I dont qualify for SMP as was off ill in the qualifying weeks, but am soon to be getting MA.

I dont want to go back to work after I've had the baby so would rather hand my resignation in now so that its one less things for me to worry about when baby is here (could be anytime from Monday as have complications)

Was just wondering would I still have to give my alloted 2 weeks notice or could I just do it as immediate effect as I am on ML?

You would still have to give two weeks notice if that's what is in your contract. Personally there's no way I'd be handing my notice in now though - you will lose out on a year's worth of holiday pay :) better to remain in employment and get the extra money you are entitled to.

Ive already took all my holiday etc for this year. There is alot more behind the reason why I handed my notice in also - I was being bullied, I suffer wth depressin and some staff members know which buttons to press to ensure I end up off sick. The last time it happened I was admitted to a mental hospital things got so bad. Id rather have no association for my own wellbeing :)
