I wonder if to prepare a song, in addition to 2 instruments?
my DS passed
grade 4 instrument 1 and is preparing for gr 5
grade 3 instr 2 and
grade 2 singing

i know grade 4 and preparing for grade 5 is not a very high grade, but it is a rare instrument. do you think we have a chance?

So depends on the school but if you don't go for it, you certainly won't get it. I'd get two pieces done well and ask them if they want to hear him sing ... often there's not much time with auditions. Good luck!

They often look for potential rather than achievement at 11. So it may include sight-reading, discussion, theory. Each school audition will be different.

Hi it depends on schools. It would be more competitive at popular schools but it's worth to try! My DS plays two instruments at similar standard with your DS and one instrument is rare. He will audition music scholarship at all schools, which he takes exams.
