not sure, but i think that you should see your doctor today or get medical attention of some sort.

Please get yourself checked out asap. Talking ONLY from dd1's experience (she is nearly 9 and has diagnosed epilepsy), she has in the past had seizures when she's been awake and able to communicate throughout. Not complete seizures, ones which only affected right side and mainly her arm. Must have been a completely terrifying for you. PLEASE get yourself to the GP as soon as possible.

Please see a dr about it. I don't understand why you don't want to? Don't you care about your health?

Please, please get yourself checked out - you could go into an NHS walk-in centre today and they will check you over - you wouldn't need to make an appointment, and they will be able to give you some clue as to what it was, because it sounds very frightening and scary.
Definitely see someone about it - what if it happens again, and you're alone with your DC?

"yes i do care but what if i was dreaming?"

I think doctors would rather deal with someone who turns out to be just dreaming than deal with someone who is seriously ill in a few month's time because they had something wrong with them and didn't get it checked out!

it does sound suspicious of a seizure and the tiredness today is suspicious too.

I also think you need to get yourself checked. If you dont feel like going out today can you ring your out of hours service and ask for a telephone consultation?

Regardless of what you do today if you have anymore episodes like that over the weekend you need to attend a&e (hopefully not) and make an emergency appointment with your gp on monday. They wont think you are wasting their time.

As I understand like my ds epilepsy nurse has told me, that everyone has the potential to have a seizure whether it be an isolated incident..
seizures an also mimic other illnesses, not saying that is the case
ds had seizure clusters which spanned for 4 weeks, that was the reason for his referral

tiredness/stress can be a huge trigger for a seizure

just get yourself the once over at the out of hours to put your mind at rest

PLEASE DO NOT DIRVE A CAR UNTIL YOU HAVE GOT YOURSELF CHECKED OUT.

You could have epilepsy and if you are driving andh ave another seizure it could be tragic.

See your dr asap.

It might help if you write down a note now of exactly what happened, so that you can let the GP know on Monday, also if your DH saw what happened he should go to the appointment with you, as it will be useful for the GP to have an accurate account of what happened as possible.

You should let your insurance company and DVLA know that you are suspected to have had a seizure, and they will be able to advise you.

Great you're getting it checked out - but please don't drive. DH suffers epilepsy and years ago (before I knew him) he had a seizure whilst driving - almost killed himself fortunately no one else. He was legal to drive and was on correct medication at time.
He no longer drives as he never wants to run the risk of this happening again.

I have epilepsy.
what you are saying about the funny taste is really similar to what I get. Did you get strange smells too? How about migraine? Gt checked. If they are worried they will do an EEG (I think) and it will tell if you have any abnormal brain activity. And,in my case, confirm you do actually have a brain (joke)

I am epileptic, but once it's diagnosed and you're on correct medication, it's in a lot of cases completely under control.

My epilepsy is triggered by stress and tiredness, so it's very possible that this is what happened to you.

It's not the life sentence it sometimes sounds like - when taking my meds, I never get seizures anymore. And even when not taking it (e.g. when pregnant - but if you are epileptic, you would need to agree this with your consultant), I don't get seizures as long as I make sure I get enough sleep.

I'm not saying you definitely have this or that you would be the same if so, but getting yourself properly checked out will reassure you either way.

You might as well get your gp to refer you when you see him - NHS had a 2 month waiting period to see a Neurologist when I was first referred.

Good luck.

Trace Hope you are ok. Really sounds like it could be triggered by stress doesn't it? How are things with DD? We have been referred to Great Ormond Street now as even the mighty Dr F at LGI seems stumped as to what to do next! I'm now paranoid that W is beginning to show ASD type behaviour but I blame that on too much MNetting

Really hope that you are ok and get yourself sorted out ASAP
