Does this sound like mastitis or something else?

Ok, it's been painful feeding ds2 for a few days now, but I put that down to him biting my nipple; it doesn't hurt anywhere else on the same boob, just the nipple and particularly when he is feeding, which he has been doing a lot as he's got teeth coming in I think.

I've tried expressing and it doesn't seem blocked but then it was the other boob that used to get blocked all the time so can't really tell.

Both nipples seem to be a bit sore which again, could be because he is feeding a lot and biting fairly often too atm when I try to remove him after what seems like hours of sucking.

anyway today I feel kind of coldy, like I am starting to get a cough, a bit flushed but no actual temp I don't think - not yet anyway. No visible redness or lines etc.

Is there anything I can do if it is mastitis? I have been very stressed and getting very little sleep as well which might explain the feeling rough.
I would assume it was boob related but for the cough, then again what do I know

Thanks.

Common signs are redness, pain, flu symptoms (very ill feeling, rather than coughing/runny nose). You normally feel achy and poorly but could be. Monitor it and if you feel at all fluey and the breast is painful (not just nipple) then get to the docs asap.

Have you tried taking him off and changing positions?
Can't remember how old your DS is?

Thanks Lucie, that's helpful. He is 2 and a half nearly.
It's still sore, have used hot water/cloth to try and - well I don't know what that's supposed to do! But it still hurts. Both do, but I can't really see any redness still.

still feel kind of achey and under the weather, but definitely getting cough too so hoping it's that. I don't really want to take antibiotics.

Maybe it'll have calmed down in the morning.
