Mirena and PMT

I have been advised by my dr to have the Mirena coil due to irregular periods and was also told it would help my PMT. Just wondered what other experiences of the Mirena were and whether anyones PMT has been reduced by this.

TIA.

My pain & pmt have been reduced since having coil first fitted years ago. Eventually your bleed will be very light as well.
Brilliant.

I (and dp who should know!) think mine has got better since the Mirena. The only downside for me is weight gain - over a stone !!

My experience of mirena is fantastic, only had it 5 months but it has made a massive improvement to everything - I had it put in to control heavy & painful bleeding, it's sorted this and has improved my pnd massively - which felt like being permanently totally hormonally unbalanced - this was an unexpected bonus, I'm now dropping the meds down.

My mirena on the whole has been great. I haven't had a period for 4 years. I do know when I'm ovulating and when my period is due (general backache and abdominal pain) and about every 3/4 months I get horrific boob ache - when I swear I'll have the damn thing taken out. But I haven't and I've stuck with it. It has to come out next May and then I have to decide whether to go for a hysterectomy. I'm not looking forward to that.
