Try giving him Calpol or a teething gel and see if that helps. I used to think oh I can't shove Calpol down my baby's throat for teething but I found at worst, I only had to do it three nights running, one dose per night.

The temp though might suggest a bit of an illness.

Did you mention to the health visitor about his stools as they shouldnt really change colour/texture due to teething at least i didnt think so.

i did she didnt seem worried, he was there for a general development check. i have heard some people say stools do change and some people say they dont, he seems to perk up for an hour or so then get grizzly and tired again, im most worried about his eating is it ok for him to go off solids when hes teethig?? and should he be sleeping so much??

I think they go off eating too. I can never understand the recommendation to give them something to chew on to relieve their teething pains as mine often went off food when they were teething. I used to give them teething gel prior to a meal to help them eat and Calpol if they woke up crying in the middle of the night.
