Periods or no periods, that is the question

I've been very old-fashioned with my contraception, always taking the pill, always having a period once a month.

Well I'm fed up with having periods and was wondering if anyone used contraception that stopped them completely? I don't want to try the coil, but would be happy with any other method.

Thanks for any advice anyone can give me.
