hi everyone advice needed please! my mother took my ds2 out on friday and as he has a specialist formula milk I did not make up milk as she would not be near a fridge so gave her 3 cups with 10oz of water and a 3 section powder dispenser with 10 scoops of powder in each section. I explained very clearly to just pour milk powder into cup and shake well before giving to my ds2. When they came back my ds2 had a 5oz cup (which I had put juice in) with 5oz water and 10 scoops of milk powder in unfortunately he had drunk nearly all of it, he has had diarrhoea ever since should I just ride this out or do you think he needs to see gp etc?

I don't think it'll do him much harm but if the diorrhea(can't spell that!?!) keeps up I'd go to the doctors just to be n the safe side. How long ago was it and has he hacd symptoms since?

I think he should be fine....i think the problems start when the water to formula ratio is wrong over a period of time. Too much formula and not enough water can dehydrate them i think. Id just give plenty of fluids to counteract the diarrhoea

I know is easier said than done when it comes to not worrying. Like cafebistro said plenty of fluids and if he gets proper food I'd just give him small pieces not alot.

If your worried I'd call the doctors because that's what their there for. If you feewl you need them call them.

So to put this in perspective, he's had a few ounces of double strength milk. That won't 'harm' him per se and it might be that the diarrhea isn't directly related tbh. How old is ds2? Is he on solids? Did your mum give him anything else? Has she been poorly recently? Could he be teething? Is he feeling poorly or appear to have tummy ache?

If it was me and as long as he's drinking plenty of fluids I would wait until Tuesday or Wednesday before seeing my GP with him. DS2 has had a runny bum for 8 days with no other symptoms and no loss of appetite and has today cut his first tooth followed by a solid poo! Ds1 used to do exactly the same. Babies are strange little creatures
