Is it normal to have heavy periods with a copper coil?

I had a coil fitted in may, since then my periods returned after callum's birth. They are heavy, very painful, and I keep leaking I don't know if this is normal with a coil, or weather to have it removed.

I had my copper coil fitted in October. My periods are DEFINITELY heavier and longer than before. My "bad week" is now a full week rather than just 4 days.

If you're worried though, prob best to get it checked.

this is normal. can take anything for 3months to a year to settle. they may also last longer.

sometimes they dont settle and have to have coil removed if you find they're really heavy and lasting up to 2 weeks.

mines to 5 months to get into a pattern. was having 10-14 days period every 6 weeks.

i had heavy discharge with mine also. get it removed for colposcopy treatment. was really releived. was wearing liner for discharge. and put me off sex as constantly felt manky.

some people settle after few months though and have normal 7 day periods every 4 weeks.

I currently have 2 weeks periods, every 4-6 weeks. It so painful though. I had a trainee doctor do mine and it really hurt when he put it in.
