Sounds like an aniti biotic job to me.

Given his back ground Misdee, it's worth just staying on top of this stuff, IMO.

misdee Sat 19-Jul-08 10:28:52

exactly.

it doesnt look to me like a normal ulcer.

butwhybutwhy Sat 19-Jul-08 10:32:18

Yes, sounds like he needs AB's.

Wolfgirl Sat 19-Jul-08 10:33:02

Can you explain how upsetting it is for you, and (possibly) scarry? I think you have been through enough lately and don't need any more stress, eh!

hugs anyway

misdee Sat 19-Jul-08 12:50:19

he is at out of hours now.

belgo Sat 19-Jul-08 12:51:00

glad that he's seeing a doctor.

misdee Sat 19-Jul-08 12:55:27

its infected and possibly spreading. GP has put him on anti biotics.

belgo Sat 19-Jul-08 12:56:09

Good that you got him to go!

BreeVanderCampLGJ Sat 19-Jul-08 12:56:39

Men !! They think they are indestuctible.

KatyMac Sat 19-Jul-08 12:57:31

He needs A-B's imo

I often get ulcers which need A-B's and my immune system is supposedly fine

misdee Sat 19-Jul-08 13:44:30

he has been given augmentin.

KatyMac Sat 19-Jul-08 16:32:16

Tell him to monitor his lymph glands - I often get a secondary infection - esp if there is a delay in getting a-b's

misdee Sat 19-Jul-08 16:33:55

ok.

his lip is very swollen tbh, am a bit concerned and will keep a close eye on it.

tea tree misdee! It has got me out of a lot of trouble over the years.I have had those huge lip ulcers too look and feel awful. How is he oherwise?Hop ethings are well xx

KatyMac Sun 20-Jul-08 10:04:10

How is he today?

MummyDoIt Sun 20-Jul-08 10:10:21

Men! Why are they so pig-headed? I could tell you a very long saga involving DH, a railway sleeper dropped on his foot and an infection that almost had him hospitalised through his stubbornness in not getting it checked out. Glad Peter went in the end and hope it's nothing too serious.

misdee Sun 20-Jul-08 10:37:11

he says its got bigger overnight but GP said that may happen to start wih. hopefully it will start to go down soon.

what do i do with the teatree noddy?

noddyholder Sun 20-Jul-08 11:28:29

it is a natural antiseptic and antibiotic. If you put a drop on a cotton bud and touch the ulcer am and pm it should go.I also have found that I have far fewer infections if i put a couple of drops in my bath every night.\\\\hth

Yes, both dp and her Dad swear by Teatree and dab it on all cuts, grazes, ulcers etc.
