Is this something to speak to gynaecologist

Hi I’ve got a appointment in the 6th with a gynaecologist. The reason is I’ve not had a period since I had my son in 2017 he has put it down to hormones from blood test. About a month ago I started getting a pain in my groin area when ever I need to wee. And when I actually push it’s awaful and feels like it’s going to rip . The thing is it’s got a bit better now it’s getting bad again. I don’t think I have a infection I’ve had a few before when I’ve had catheters in for operation. But never had this kind of pain. I’m a bit confused do you think it’s something I should mention to the gynaecologist or wait and see if it goes away and possibly speak to my gp ? Thanks for any opinion

See a GP first. They can do blood tests and refer you to the right person- it may not necessarily be a gynaecologist.

Thank you I appreciate that. I wasn’t sure and didn’t want to waste anyone’s time but don’t want it to get worse either . Thank you

If you’ve already got an appointment with the gynae I would 100% ask! What’s the harm? Either they will help or tell you to tell the GP anyway.

But I agree you could speak to Gp first but I’d still mention it to gynae either way x

Yea that’s the thing I already have a appointment with the gynaecologist any way. So thought I would just wait and speak to him. The way my dr is at the moment I might not get seen till after then. But I didn’t want to be a pain either. I think that’s what I’m going to do wait and speak to him then if he says speak to the gp I will. Thank u
