You know what it’s like when it’s three in the morning and you can’t sleep because you can’t stop thinking about something totally pointless, and you need to ask strangers just so you can stop thinking about it and try to get some sleep!
For whatever reason I’ve thought about some medicine I had to take for a week when I was a child in about 1980. It was a weird blue syrupy liquid which was prescribed because I couldn’t stop vomiting for several days. With the benefit of hindsight the vomiting was caused by the stress and anxiety of having to spend a days in the school holidays staying with my abusive father. When I got home my mother took me to the doctor (I must have been really ill as in my family you only went to the doctor if you were nearly dead!) but I don’t remember what my mother or I told the doctor at the time about the cause of the vomiting.
I wondered if anyone could hazard a guess at what the blue syrupy liquid might have been and thus speculate as to what the doctor might have diagnosed it as.
By the way, I know I could ask to see my medical records if I was particularly concerned but a) I’m not THAT interested in what the medicine was and b) I’d hate to read my medical records and see what various doctors have written about me over the years. I think that would make me quite sad (sad as in miserable not sad as In pathetic)
Right, now I’ve got that off my chest maybe I can get to sleep!
