Any dentists around? Worried oral cancer.

I have a very slight swelling on the inside of my lower front teeth, below the gum/ just before the floor of my mouth. It also tastes slightly “raw” when I run my tongue over the area. I googled (I know) and all the results came back with the possibility of oral cancer and I need to see my dentist. Except with the current situation my dentist is only seeing “Emergency” cases were there is severe pain etc. I have had it at least 4 weeks. In my head I’ve built it up as being definitely oral cancer and I really need a dentist to look at it and tell me it’s not so I can get on with my life. The fact I can’t see a dentist at the moment is just adding to my anxieties. What should I do?

Ok, firstly it is more likely to be an ulcer on a mandibular torus.
If you had suspected oral cancer your Dentist would regard that as an emergency so please don't worry that you can't be seen.
There are lots of dentists on here if you are able to get a photograph or if you don't want to do that send an e-mail and photograph to your dentist. In the bottow of your mouth if you've got a small mirror put the mirror against your upper teeth and you should be able to see and photograph the lump in the reflection.

@MillyMollyMardy thank you. I have tried taking a photo but don’t think it’s very clear. Could a mouth ulcer be painless? I thought they normally hurt a lot!

Twisted I can't see it that well only from the side but it looks like an ulcer. They usually hurt when they're in an area that gets touched by food/your tongue. That area is protected by your tongue.
Keep it clean, a teaspoon of salt in small amount of warm water a few times a day or if you can't face that Corsodyl mouthwash rinsed for 30 seconds.
Ulcers usually heal within 7-10 days. If it's still with you in a week (you can tell I think it'll be healed) call your dentist and say you have an ulcer that isn't healing and they will check it.

@MillyMollyMardy thanks for advice. I’ve ordered corsodyl. It’s already been there for 3/4 weeks already. Would you wait longer or get it checked now? And if it doesn’t heal in the place it is in I assume it couldn’t heal so more likely to be something bad. Thanks for advice anyway.

If you've had it 3 plus weeks already I'd give your dentist a call tomorrow and ask to be seen.
There are types of ulcers that are larger and take longer to heal, so please don't assume the worst but at plus three weeks it should be looked at. Your picture doesn't look alarming but a decent view with a bright light is a much better way to assess something.
