Does anyone get this. When I get anxious I seem to get little constant mini burps. They can last for days. Very odd and annoying lol

Yes yes yes. Also with indigestion and heartburn. I’ve tried so hard to cut stuff out of my diet, keep a food diary etc, but eventually I realised it always comes about 24 hours after periods of very high stress. And lasts ages because I tende my stomach so much worrying that I have a serious illness. My sympathies, OP. It’s so uncomfortable.

Ah thank you @horsegallopingonatomato

Yeah it's a total pain. Now I've just to work out how to stop it. I feel ignoring it might be the way to go and hope once I'm not paying attention to it, it bogs off 😂

Yes! I think it's because when I'm anxious I forget to breathe. I also get it when I run because my breathing is shite.

Yes I used to be a Gastro nurse and I would hear this fairly often. Also ds best friend at school is suffering with this at the moment, he’s quite an anxious little boy and is having counselling.
Poor you it’s horrible.

Ah thank you both. I'm hoping that knowing what it is is half the battle solving it 😊. Very annoying

Not personally but my DGF who suffered dreadfully with anxiety used to burp continuously during stressful times.

Ah that's not good 😔

I find it hard because I'm clearly anxious about getting it to stop but know that whilst I'm anxious it won't. Bit of a vicious circle

I had terrible HA a few years ago and burping was one of my many symptoms (Little burps that don't leave the mouth if you understand what I mean?)
I remember being convinced it was a sign of Throat Cancer
As soon as I had tests done to rule Cancer out my burps/stomach rumbling/belly ache all went away!!

I have this. Have done for as long as I can remember. It took me years to work out what it was, through various online google searches. It took me even longer to work out that it was linked to anxiety and that that applied to me.

Google "supragastric belching". You can find some research papers on it.

This is also interesting.

I recently started on citalopram and it has got better but not gone completely. My siblings have it as well, so I do wonder if there's some sort of genetic predisposition.

Yes @pinksoda35 that's it exactly! Ah I hope your HA is better now.. It's really a horrible thing to have. Flowers

Ah @wowstarswow that's a really interesting article.

I have definitely linked it to anxiety and breathing. I've calmed down a bit over the past few days and it has definitely lessened. Thank you all xx
