Broken foot - 8 weeks to mend? Really? Arrrghhhh!

Hi all,
Have fractured 5th metatarsal and chipped another bone in my right foot. All a bit bruised and painful if I put weight on it or twist it by accident. A&E gave me a fabulous space age inflatable boot and a crutch and said I'd probably need it for a couple of months - really? Please tell me it needn't be that long and what I can do to speed up healing? Soooooo frustrating!!!!

How are you did it heal quicker any tips broke 3 bones in my foot last Sunday.

It hurts anytime I'm not sitting and resting it.
