DD(14) hurt her ankle at the end of December. We treated it with RICE (resting as much as possible - the only thing she was doing was 15 minutes walk to and from school and walking round school). Every day when she got home from school she was in a lot of pain and basically ended up sitting with her foot up and ice on it.
Took her to the GP at the end of February who said due to lack of swelling it was most likely soft tissue damage and there was not a lot he could do. She was referred to orthopaedics. Her appointment was the end of June, but who knows now.
Since schools closed 2.5 weeks ago DD has done nothing but walk round the house. We attempted a short walk but her foot was sore after 5 minutes so abandoned that. We discovered she could cycle quite well one footed so have been going out for short cycle rides 2 or 3 times a week.
Today we went on a slightly longer one (I'm talking 15 minutes in total , not miles!) and she is again saying her foot is really painful.
I'm really concerned that it's not healing and she's says there is pretty much always a dull pain. In normal times I would perhaps go back to GP to try to get her ortho appointment moved forward, but don't know what is the best thing for now?
