Red raised spot on breast?

Hi
So worried right now but hoping for some reassurance as it's the weekend and I will go to check this with my doctor but wondered if anyone could help reassure me.
Was in the shower and noticed a small red raised piece of skin around my Areola. Initially I thought it was a cut that had scanned over.
I was able to move it around around and it came off and it looked a bit like there was a hair underneath- pulled that out and now it looks like a tiny little sore that is sort of inverted.

I don't know if this is a good explanation but I'm oabicking/ I have a one year old and I just found our I'm pregnant again last week. Please reassure

Sounds like an ingrown hair. If it is, it will heal up quickly now.

I agree with ingrown hair.

Do you think it would make sense that an ingrown hair would look like a tiny little scab? That's what it looked like before I picked it.

It doesn't sound sinister but perfectly reasonable to get it checked anyway.

Best get it checked out.

Yes I think it would. It might have had a bit of a blister in it you didn’t notice. If a hair popped out I think that’s what it was.

Get it checked out. I have scared myself with something like this 3 times.

  1. Had a small sore circle at edge of areola. It was an infected Montgomery's tubule (think that was what it was called) when I finally went to the GP. It had a scab on top and a core of pus underneath. I was 23. He just told me to leave it alone. I did and it went.
  2. About 28 I had a small patch of really itchy, red, crusty skin at the edge of an areola. I put antiseptic cream in it but it didn't go away. Went to GP who said it was eczema and gave me some cream which cleared it up in about 3 days.
  3. About 33 same thing again. I was convinced it was Paget's disease- a kind of breast cancer. Went to GP who said it was eczema, gave me some cream and it cleared it up. Am 40 now and it has not come back so I assume she was right.

I worked myself up into worried panic each time.
See your GP - probably exactly what you say, an ingrown hair. Go and be reassured.

Sounds just like an ingrown hair. Causes a spot which then scabs over.

Thank you - hopefully it's nothing serious. We take our health for granted so much xx
