Waiting for colonoscopy (bleeding), any diet tips?

Sorry for TMI in title (and post), but that’s the reality.

I’ve had blood in my stool for months and am on the waiting list for a colonoscopy. I have frequent urgency to use the loo, unhappy gut (not pain as such but I can seel something going on) and even very occasional farts with blood and mucus. Sorry for the graphic detail.

I have no idea how to change my diet while I’m waiting, does anyone have ideas of where to look?

Hello, I'm waiting for a colonoscopy after a positive qFIT test, but no other obvious bowel symptoms. I have had gastric symptoms though, trouble eating and rapidly losing weight. I have found nutritional supplement drinks helpful. You can buy them on Amazon - Ensure and Fortisip are the brands I have tried. They are complete nutrition, 300cals per drink, and very easy on the stomach.

Having Crohn that gives me similar symptoms i would suggest bland, low fibre foods may be gentler in your guts.

Have you had haemorrhoids ruled out OP?

@goteam I do have internal haemorrhoids (they don't give me any trouble though, I just know they're there) but this is really something else. Dark blood, light blood, lots of blood, all different stool colours etc.

Thanks @lennonj I'm starting to wonder if it might be Crohns. Who knows really. Something is very wrong though.
