I’ve booked a doctors appointment but for curiosity’s sake I’m posting a photo.

What do you think?

For extra context it’s been itchy recently and the dark border is a new thing.

Cant say at all. A dr will look at it under a light with a magnifying lamp and prob send to dermatology to double check. Thats what they did with mine. If a dr cant even say with certainty i wouldnt trust people online to know tbf. Hopefully its nothing and your worrying needlessly.

If it is changing, then you need a referral to dermatology and they might do a biopsy or just remove it.
Don't burn it off. Doesn't look especially dodgy to me and I've had several removed surgically.

Definitely get it checked, see your GP and ask for a referral to Dermatology. I have experience of something similar.

Google pyogenic granuloma and see whether it looks like your skin, OP. In any case see a GP.

I’m booked in to see a skin specialist but I can’t help obsessing over it.

@HollowTalk mine was "diagnosed" by a GP as a pyogenic granuloma but I pushed for a Derm referral. It wasn't a granuloma.

I don’t think it is pyogenic granuloma. It’s a pre existing mole that’s changed colour.

No-one can or should diagnose you over the internet. When is your appointment?
Be prepared that they might just remove it at the appointment. I didn't expect that to happen with mine and would have arranged DH to drive me home afterwards if I had (mine didn't look like your's and was in an awkward position in my leg for driving home.)

Yes it says on the letter they are a see and treat centre, I’m hoping they will just take it off.
It’s early March but I’m just impatient to know.

I have several moles that have changed in a similar way (darker border, raised, itchy). I’ve had them checked out each time and they were completely benign. Had one big one removed because it ended up like a ball and it was catching on my bra and bleeding.

Definitely right to get it checked out but try not to worry - much more likely to be benign.

That’s reassuring to read. Thank you.
