Shoulder pain, any chance it will sort itself out?

I have googled and it's something to do with a narrowing space where the tendons go through the shoulder joint and can be caused by simple narrowing causing inflammation of the rotator cuff or by bony spurs doing the same.

No injury, been going on for a couple of months, and I cannot take ibuprofen for more than a few doses before I get stomach irritation.

Any hope of it settling on it's own?

Don't know, my shoulders been bad for a few months as well. Maybe try ibuprofen gel, it works just as well as tablets.

Mine was bad for a couple of months but has now settled, no idea what it was or how it has gone

My rotator cuff problem was due to an injury. I ended up having to have physiotherapy which has improved it, but it's still not 100%.
If I'd not been shown the right exercises though I know it'd be worse than it is now. This has been going on for nearly a year now.

@Shannaratiger I've just found some volterol gel at the back of the cupboard, so I'll try that. Completely forgot about gels

@CalmYoBadSelf Hope for me then 😊

😊*@LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone* I've seen some exercises online so I'll try a few but not if it's painful.

Hate going to the doctor!

Shoulder impingement? Mine went away on its own though I think it was related to stopping yoga. Anything obviously causing yours?

Be careful doing any generic exercises. The physiotherapist diagnosed specific exercises for my particular problem which were nothing like what I'd seen online. You can make it more of a problem than what you started with.
Ask your GP for a referral to a physiotherapist to make sure.

Op, if you ask your gp for omeprazole it will protect your stomach so that you can take the ibuprofen without irritating it. You can even buy 10mg omeprazole otc.

I ignored constant shoulder pain for about 3 or 4 months because it wasn't bad enough to be debilitating and I couldn't be bothered going to the doctors and it was a good excuse to not be involved in dealing with firewood this winter Grin- and it eventually just resolved itself with rest. Not necessarily advising that you do the same, but your question was if it might just sort itself out and my experience is that it can...

I think I'd see a doctor tbh if you haven't already. Unexplained shoulder pain is quite commonly referred pain from issues elsewhere.

It's proper shoulder, and shoulder impingement is what google say. Ticks all the test boxes for it, so I'm going to see how it does with the simple things, before going to see the dr.
