Hiya, have name changed as embarrassed (I shouldn't be) about this!

For the past week I have been experiencing a foul fishy odour from down below (sorry, very TMI). It smells very strong and sort of acidic in a way as well, leaving a discharge behind which is pinkish. I've also been having a bit of pink blood when I wipe which I can't tell whether it's from my wee or vagina.

I am in a long term relationship and haven't had sex with anyone else and my DP of 5 years hasn't either. I do have the mirena coil so wondering if maybe that can collect bacteria and cause an infection but I'm unsure if that's even possible! Because of my coil, I don't get periods.

Just wanted to post and see if anyone else has experienced this..I have the doctors tomorrow but I'm so embarrassed to say all this, even though I know I have no need to be

Thank you, can I ask what the process was at the doctors? Did they have to check for anything at all? And I assume there was antibiotics to take

Sounds like it could be BV as other posters said. I've had this recently and not sure if it's gone or not yet. Basically they usually take a swab,if it comes back as BV then they will prescribe antibiotics or there is a pessary type course of medication as well so depends on which you prefer to take.

Its probably BV. There is a test and treatment at the supermarket if you don't want the palava of swabs.

Wear a pad if you use the gels though.

I think canestin sell a testing kit for BV if you don't want to go to the gp.

I do think you need to go to the gp though they may want to test for pelvic inflammatory disease which is a swab of your cervix I think.

I have a mirena coil and was experiencing spotting when i had completely stopped menstruating- it had slipped and was too low in my.uterus and they had to replace it as whilst the symptoms were not especially problematic they could not garuntee it's efficacy!
