Would you book a GP appointement?

I just hoped I could get any opinions on whether I should book a GP appointment to be on the safe side or am I being silly?
I have a history of laxative abuse (long story cut short) took them in ranging severity for around 7 years but I haven’t taken any at all for around 5 months now.
I have for around a year or so been experiencing back pain where I believe the kidneys are located. It used to be just when I woke up it would ache sometimes but lately every morning I wake up in pain in that area which now covers a slightly larger area I’d say and I now have pain around the front of the same area at times if that makes sense and also going down my legs.
I’ve also noticed (sorry for TMI) that my wee has become very smelly and dark over the last 6 months-year regardless of how hydrated I am.
I know I was probably quite physically poorly 5 months ago due to being in the throws of restriction, vomiting and laxative abuse where I lost significant weight but now I am a healthy weight again and am honestly 5 months free of those behaviours.
I’ve noticed lately I feel full up faster than I ever have done before on smaller portions although I push myself to eat full meals when I do feel that way but will then often feel nauseous.
So should I see a gp or these expected after affects?

I definitely would you may well have a uti that has gone to your kidneys and that can have serious consequences. Not sure its related to the laxative abuse at all but those symptoms need checking ASAP.

100% would book an appointment. Explain everything as it may have an impact on their diagnosis.

Get down that GP as soon as you can. Don't mess with yr kidneys - it does sound like you have a kidney infection or something.

Definitely see your GP and explain everything - they should be able to run some tests and hopefully help you continue to get better. Well done on stopping the abuse. If you need any support staying off them ask about that too, often long waiting lists for these things.

Thank you all for the advice, I will give them a call tomorrow and book myself in. Should I ask for a routine appointment? I feel ok just have these niggles I can’t explain and paired with the previous laxative abuse I’ve started to worry a little.
@PenguinsRabbits I had an assessment just yesterday actually with a mental health professional and have been offered counselling and placed on the wait list.
It’s for my general mental health but I’m sure we can cover the laxative abuse and such during the time.
I feel like I have truly conquered it now though (touch wood). It need was about weight and I’ve realised that, I just hope I haven’t done myself any real damage.

Glad you are getting some counselling and I would cover the laxative abuse with them - often all related. Glad you seem to have conquered it but they can also teach you techniques to help in future and things are much easier to treat when they are mild to moderate than at crisis point.

I would ask for an urgent appointment and say you think you may have a uti and kidney infection then explain everything to the doctor. Try and make sure to get a doctor rather than a nurse. Nurse is fine for uti but anything complicated doctor is best. It may not be a kidney infection but best to get thoroughly checked asap.

Hope you can start to feel better soon.
