Tooth pain a week after filling

I had a filling replaced nearly a week ago and since then have had a dull ache in that tooth. Went back 3 days after as the filling was put in too high and another dentist filed it down. He said to observe pain over the weekend but it was likely to be hurting as it had been high. It’s now another 2 days and the pain is still the same. Dull ache that eases with pain relief. It’s not stopping me sleeping and not getting any worse but hurts all day. Is this normal? When he was doing the original filling he did say the decay was much deeper than he had originally thought.

I've had pain after a filling, when it didn't subside after advice and a week or so I went back and had it taken out and redone and it was ok after. Dentist apologised and didn't charge

Thanks. Am in agony tonight. They have given me an appointment for tomorrow so hope they can sort it out. Fed up being in pain!
