One of the kids slammed my finger in a door about an hour ago. It is the most pain I've ever experienced (maybe excluding labour, but at least then I had gas and air). Just wondering if I should go and get it x-rayed? I think the fingertip may be broken but it might just be smashed finger from googling. My whole finger and arm feel numb, I couldn't move it until ibuprofen kicked in, it hasn't taken the pain away completely but it is more bearable, with waves of agonising pain. It would be really inconvenient to go as DH is working so I'll have to try and find a babysitter. But I'm working tomorrow morning so probably wouldn't be able to go then and wonder if I should get it checked before work. To be honest I don't think I'll be able to work if it is still this painful. Anyone done this and can help me work out if it is broken or not? Or if it is smashed finger will the pain subside soon?
